Dallas Cowboys and Houston Texans team-up to bring girls’ flag to El Paso

The National Football League's Dallas Cowboys and Houston Texans are partnering to bring high school girls' flag football to El Paso.

The National Football League‘s Dallas Cowboys and Houston Texans are partnering to bring high school girls’ flag football to El Paso. The Region 19 Female Flag Football Pilot Championship will involve eight school districts, representing 39 teams.

The goal of pilot programs, like this, is to lead to the University Interscholastic League, the state’s largest high school sports governing body, to officially sanctioning the fast growing sport. Flag will make its debut in the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.

In addition to the NFL, the El Paso Sports Commission and Zebra Sports are working with El Paso school to make the dream a reality.

The El Paso season will run from April 29 through May 16 with the championship tournament set for May 19-22.
