Big 33 Girls’ Flag Football Tournament returns to Pennsylvania All-Star Classic

Eagles win the 2024 Big 33 Girls Flag Football championship

The Pennsylvania Scholastic Football Coaches Association (PSFCA) has announced that Big 33 Girls’ Flag Football Tournament will once again be a part of the 68th Big 33 Football Classic.

Following last year’s groundbreaking debut, the 2nd Annual Big 33 Girls Flag Football Tournament will take place May 24–25, 2025, at Cumberland Valley High School’s Eagle View Middle School and Chapman Field in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania.

High school girls flag football teams representing the Baltimore Ravens, Philadelphia Eagles, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Washington Commanders will once again compete for the Big 33 Girls Flag Championship.

Each team has chosen a roster consisting of 22 high school female athletes, selected through competitive tryouts, along with multiple high school coaches to represent each of the four NFL markets.

“Last year we witnessed the first of-its-kind for flag football when the BIG 33 elected to add girls’ flag to their event,” said Bobby Taylor, NFL Legend and Global Flag Football Ambassador. “Seeing girls flag football become an official part of this staple event for the Pennsylvania and Maryland regions showcases the growth of girls flag football throughout the nation. This year, I expect to see the momentum continue for girls flag football at the BIG 33.”

The two-day round robin tournament will kick off on Saturday, May 24, with games at Eagle View Middle School. The Round 3 games and Championship Game will be played on Sunday, May 25, prior to the 68th Big 33 Football Classic.

Tim Quinn, head coach of the Eagles girls flag football team, praised the significance of the opportunity, “The PSFCA has gone out of its way to provide a once-in-a-lifetime, professional athletic experience for young women in flag to take part in the most historic high school all-star game in the country.”

“We’re proud to once again team up with the NFL to highlight the growth of girls flag football on this incredible platform,” said Garry Cathell, Executive Director of the Big 33. “This tournament is more than just a game – it’s a celebration of opportunity, talent, and the bright future of girls flag football in our region. These athletes earned their spot through hard work and dedication, and now they’ll have the chance to shine on one of the biggest stages in high school football.”
