Alonso will be going after its fourth overall Florida girls’ flag high school football state championship Saturday night when it faces Wellington, which will be going after its first. The two will square-off for the 4A championship at the AdventHealth Training Center, the indoor practice facility of the National Football League‘s Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

There should be a bit of a home field advantage for Alonso, a Tampa school. Wellington is from the east side of the state, west of Palm Beach.

Alonso advanced to the title game by beating defending state champ Miami Palmetto 7-0.
