Chiles will play for its first-ever Florida high school football girls’ flag championship when it takes-on five-time state champ Seminole Ridge Saturday for the Class 3A championship.
Thursday night, at the AdventHealth Training Center, the indoor practice facility of the National Football League‘s Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Chiles beat Homestead 18-7 in the state semifinals. The game marked the first time either school advanced to the Final Four.
In the other semi, Seminole Ridge shutout East Bay 18-0. The Hawks will looking for their sixth overall state championship. They won state crowns in 2010, 2012, 2013, 2015 and 2016 with runner-up finishes in 2014, 2017 and 2018.
Saturday’s championship game will be played a 4:45 p.m.
