The National Football League‘s New York Jets are once again honoring high-achieve girls’ flag high school football coaches during the Spring 2025 season. In its third year, the Jets Girls Flag High School Coach of the Week presented by Visa award is given to a coach in the tri-state area who serves the best interests of the game through the teaching of sound football fundamentals, the motivation of young players to achieve, and the promotion of youth football by way of dedication to their community, their school, and their student-athletes.
Each coach will receive a $2,000 donation to benefit the school’s flag football program. Along with the monetary award, each winner will be invited to attend the Jets Play Football preseason game in August, where they will be honored on-field at MetLife Stadium.
Week 1 – Adam Kudlacik, Watchung Hills HS (New Jersey)
The Watchung Hills Warriors are off to a 2-0-1 start, allowing zero points on the season with shutout wins over Scotch Plains-Fanwood (30-0) and Manville (26-0). Kudlacik is in his second year at Watchung Hills High School, where he teaches in the business department and is an assistant coach for the boys’ football team, in addition to his role as the head coach of girls’ flag. Prior to his time with the Warriors, Kudlacik served similar roles at Kittatinny Regional High School. Kudlacik grew up in Parsippany, NJ and began his football career at Parsippany Hills High School. He went on to play college football at Kings College, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration. The Warriors look to remain undefeated as they take on South Hunterdon in their upcoming game.
Week 2 – Tico Baret, Bayonne HS (New Jersey)
In their inaugural season, the Bayonne Bees are off to a commanding 4-0 start, with shutout wins in their three most recent games. Baret has over 20 years of coaching experience in various sports, but this year had a passion to help bring girls flag to his alma mater. Baret was raised in Bayonne and went on to become a star fullback and linebacker for the Bees’ tackle football team. He returned to Bayonne High School after playing college football at William Paterson, where he was All-ECAC as a linebacker. Baret also earned his Master’s in Education and All-NJAC honors from NJCU. The Bees look to remain undefeated in their upcoming game against West Side High School.
Week 3 – Jake Rossi & Greg Ziems, West Islip HS (New York)
A native of West Islip, Rossi attended West Islip High School where he played varsity football for the Lions. He returned to his alma mater as a coach after attending SUNY Cortland, where he received his degree in Physical Education. Ziems grew up around the corner in Holbrook, NY and played football for Sachem High School. He went on to play college football at St. John’s University, and has since been a teacher and tackle football coach for both the Lions and Sachem. Ziems and Rossi are in their second year as the co-head coaches of West Islip’s girls flag program.
After leading the Lions to the playoffs in their inaugural season, Rossi and Ziems’ team is off to a dominant 8-1 start in 2025. West Islip dropped their first game of the season, but have since been undefeated. The West Islip Lions look to extend their win streak in this week’s game versus Eastport South Manor.
Week 4 – Nicole Reuter, Rhinebeck HS (New York)
Reuter was raised in Poughkeepsie, NY and attended Ketcham High School. She continued her education at SUNY Cortland where she received her degree in physical education. Reuter is now a physical education teacher at both the middle and high school level, and is in her third season coaching flag football and volleyball for the Hawks. Rhinebeck’s girls flag team is currently 5-1 on the season and undefeated in conference play. Reuter and the Hawks look to add another win in their upcoming game against Highland High School.
Week 5 – Samantha Schnapper, Eleanor Roosevelt HS (New York)
Schnapper is a lifelong New Yorker. She was raised in New City, NY and went on to attend Syracuse University. Schnapper has since been an educator and coach at multiple schools in New York City. She’s in her eleventh year at Wagner Middle School, where she teaches sixth grade social studies and coaches cross country, track and field, boys flag football, and girls’ basketball. On top of her roles at Wagner, Schnapper is now in her fourth year coaching girls’ flag for Eleanor Roosevelt High School. Schnapper’s team is 8-2 on the season, with the Huskies looking to continue their success as they head into the postseason. Week 6 – Julie Williams, Pompton Lakes HS (New Jersey)
Williams is a 2018 graduate of Indian Hills High School. She went on to receive her bachelor’s degree from The College of New Jersey, where she majored in health and exercise science on the teaching track. Williams is now in her third year as a health and physical education teacher at Pompton Lakes. Throughout this time, she has also served as the head coach of the Pompton Lakes’ girls’ flag team, in addition to coaching ice hockey. Williams and the Pompton Lakes Cardinals are coming off a 6-0 walk-off win in the NJIC North Division Championship. They will play for a championship next week in the NJIC final, facing the winner of the NJIC South Division game between Harrison and Secaucus.
Week 7 – Gregory Bosch, Sachem East HS (New York)
Coach Bosch was raised in West Hempstead, NY. He attended West Hempstead High School, where he played football for the Rams. Bosch went on to receive his bachelor’s degree in physical education and master’s in health education from Adelphi University. He is now in his seventh year as a health education teacher in the Sachem Central School District, and his first year as the coach of the varsity flag football program. Coach Bosch and the Sachem East Arrows have a 10-6 record, and are currently on an impressive run in the Section XI playoffs. As the No. 9 seed, Bosch’s team defeated 8-seed Northport, 4-seed William Floyd, and 1-seed Patchogue to book their trip to the Suffolk County Finals versus Half Hollow Hills High School.
